Bio: RICK GREEN

For Rick Green, this documentary draws upon his passion for education, his

gift for comedy and a personal commitment to transform our view of Mental

Health. Rick knows first hand that when diagnosed and treated A.D.D. can

become a strength. His goal is to transform how Canadians view this

misunderstood syndrome. In fact, before this documentary had been delivered

to Global TV it had won Rick the 2009 CAMH “˜Transforming Lives’ award.

Rick Green graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.Sc.. In 2008 he

was named one of U of W’s top 50 Science Graduates of the past 50 Years. As

a demonstrator at the Ontario Science Centre Rick developed and performed

numerous original programs, science plays and exhibits.

In 1979 he plunged into show biz full time as a member of The Frantics

comedy troupe. Over 8 years they created and performed hundreds of stage

shows, radio programs, albums, and the groundbreaking TV series Four On

The Floor. In 2003, the Frantics again performed on stage and television.

In 1989, Rick became “˜Commander Rick’, writer and host of TVO’s long

running speculative fiction series Prisoners of Gravity. That same year, Rick cocreated

The Red Green Show, writing & performing for 11 seasons.

In 1999, Rick created the critically acclaimed hit History Bites. Five seasons, a

recently released boxed DVD set and six one-hour specials later, the show is

program to ever appear on both a History and Comedy network.

In 2004 he wrote Kim Cattrall’s HBO special, Sexual Intelligence.

Recently, Rick has been creating content for TotallyADD.com, the ultimate

website to educate, amuse, inform, and empower people affected by A.D.D.

and A.D.H.D..

Rick has also been working on a new project with the creators of the hilarious

superhero parody, Hoverboy at hoverboy.com.

He has won Gemini Awards, ACTRA Awards, New York Festival Awards, and

various educational awards.
