TORONTO – Subway service at several locations near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue was halted Wednesday afternoon for over an hour after a suspicious package was found on one of the trains.
The package was found aboard a subway train at Sheppard station at approximately 4 p.m. The ensuing investigation forced the closure of Sheppard Station and the entire Sheppard subway line.
Trains on the York-University-Spadina line were turning back at York Mills Station.
Shuttle busses were also running to accommodate delayed commuters. Full subway service was restored shortly after 5 p.m.
