Marisa Ramirez is best known by millions as the spirited supermodel Gia Campbell on the daytime drama General Hospital. In 2001, she was nominated for both an NAACP Image Award® and an ALMA Award® for “Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series.” She has gone on to star on Miracles and Mental.
Marisa began her career at the age of 13, when a Polaroid® snapshot found its way to a top Los Angeles modeling agency. Soon, she was traveling the globe as an international fashion model. Upon returning home to California, Marisa pursued acting and quickly landed lead roles in several high-profile music videos, including Will Smith’s “Wild, Wild West,” Lenny Kravitz’s “American Woman,” the Backstreet Boys’ “As Long As You Love Me” and Jordan Knight’s “Give It To You.” Shortly thereafter, Marisa was tapped by MTV to co-host the network’s Senseless Acts of Video.
Other television credits include Roswell, USA High, The Bold & The Beautiful and Days Of Our Lives.
In addition to acting, Marisa is involved in several charitable causes, including those for animal rescue, Cystic Fibrosis, and HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and education.
