PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Investigators have no idea why someone dumped nearly two dozen wounded and dead cats on a rural property in Saskatchewan.

Debbie Lehner with the Prince Albert SPCA says 18 of the animals were found last Saturday.

The next day, another four were left in the same spot.

She says it appears that some of the cats drowned and others were stomped on.

Eleven of the cats have survived.

The woman who owns the property is caring for the cats until they can be adopted.
