Toronto police looking to ID pedestrian critically injured after being hit by vehicle

Toronto police want to identify a man who is in life-threatening condition after he was hit by a vehicle in Toronto’s west end Tuesday evening, officials say.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Kipling Avenue and Finch Avenue West at around 7 p.m.

Police said the pedestrian was standing on a curb when a motorist driving eastbound on Finch Avenue struck the pedestrian as he walked onto the roadway.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries by paramedics.

Investigators said despite their best efforts the pedestrian has not yet been identified and police are appealing to the public to help identify him.

The pedestrian is described by police as being in his late 30s to early 40s with a brown complexion and has a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gold and brown winter jacket, blue hoodie and black jeans, police said.
