Rocky Mountain House RCMP said Sunday they had located a hiker who went missing this weekend near Nordegg, Alta.
Police said 45-year-old Keith Morris told family members on Saturday morning that he was going on a hike or cross-country ski west of Nordegg and would be back by 3 p.m.
Morris, who was staying at a cabin with family, did not return as promised. RCMP had said Sunday morning he had still not been found and there was concern because of the cold temperatures and that neither he nor his family are from the Nordegg area.

Morris was found near Siffleur Falls, about 65 kilometres south of Nordegg, later on Sunday.
“Morris had lost his bearings during his hike and was not able to locate his vehicle,” RCMP said in their update Sunday. “Mr. Morris did not sustain any injuries but is being assessed by Emergency Medical Services as a precaution.”
RCMP said they were “extremely pleased” with the outcome but said it should serve as a warning to winter hikers to be well prepared and let others know exactly where you intend to go.
Nordegg is located about 170 km west of Red Deer.
