Two women and a man have been sent to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in downtown Hamilton, according to police.
Investigators say it happened just before noon on Wednesday at James Street North and Cannon Street West.
Hamilton police say a Hyundai SUV and GMC Sierra pickup truck crashed at the intersection, causing the pickup to hit a 34-year-old Smithville woman who was standing on the sidewalk.
Police say the pedestrian is in hospital in stable condition with life-threatening injuries.
The drivers of both vehicles, a 56-year-old Hamilton man and 34-year-old woman from Niagara Falls, were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives say they have ruled out driver impairment, but all other contributing factors, including which vehicle had the right of way, are being looked at.
The intersection has since reopened following an investigation and clean-up.
