Raised in Honolulu, Callies is the daughter of two university professors. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1999 with an undergraduate emphasis in Feminist Studies and a Senior Fellowship in Indigenous Theology, she attended Denver’s National Theatre Conservatory to pursue her love of acting and to complete her Master of Fine Arts degree.
Once finished with school, Callies moved to New York City and secured her first acting job on camera, a recurring role opposite Oliver Platt in the drama series “Queens Supreme.” Callies’ additional television credits include guest starring roles on “Law & Order: SVU,” “Dragnet” and “Numb3rs.” Callies’ most recognizable role to date was that of “Jane” in the short-lived series “Tarzan.”
Most recently, Callies has completed production on two feature films, “The Celestine Prophecy,” based on the best-selling novel by James Redfield, and the thriller “Whisper” opposite Josh Holloway (“Lost”).
