Steve Bacic stars as maverick Duty Captain Miro Da Silva, a character he describes as "more about doing the right thing than being by the book. Miro hasn’t quite learned diplomacy and the political games associated with advancement."

Bacic is well known to sci-fi fans for his portrayal of the genetically engineered Telemachus Rhade on the hit series Andromeda. Bacic’s character appeared in Andromeda’s first episode, was later killed and ultimately resurrected to become a series regular.

Born in Croatia, Bacic’s family immigrated to Canada when he was two and he grew up in Windsor, Ontario. In high school, he did some modeling but he loved playing sports and planned to pursue a related-career, either coaching or as a physical therapist. He earned an honours degree in Kinesiology with a minor in math from the University of Windsor. Along the way, Bacic got sidetracked from his original goal, ended up with his own business refurbishing cars and ultimately traveled to Vancouver, where he pursued acting. The rest, as they say, is history.

Bacic’s first acting gig was a guest-starring role in 21 Jump Street, distinguished all the more as the biggest part the series had ever given to a Canadian. Bacic’s acting career took off, and he went on to appear in multiple episodes of series such as The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Smallville, Flash Gordon and Whistler, as well as guest roles on ER, CSI: Miami and Dark Angel. On the big screen, Bacic has been seen in The 6th Day, Stakeout 2 and Good Luck Chuck, and his MOWs include Battlestar Galactica: Razor and reprising his Stargate SG-1 role as Camulus in Stargate: Continuum.

When he isn’t on camera, Bacic enjoys playing poker, golf and fitness.
