Bombers Switch Quarterbacks

So whats left on the Bombers  season now rests on the passing arm of one Alex Brink as Head Coach Paul LaPolice will start the rookie quarterback ahead of Steven Jyles.  Despite having the second highest quarterback ranking, only slightly behind Anthony Calvillo, Jyles – in the view of LaPolice – wasn’t getting the job done when it came to wins and losses.  Bombers have won just 3 of their 13 games and Jyles is 2 and 6 as a starter taking over from Buck Pierce who was 1 and 4 as a starter before his season came to an end with a dislocated elbow.  Is if fair? Is it justified? Does it indicate the Bombers have given up on this season and have started preparing for 2011?  No, maybe and quite likely.  According to LaPolice Brink has looked good in practice all year but he’s only thrown 7 passes in the heat of battle and completed just two.  Brink says he’s ready to start and LaPolice obviously feels the same way – but is Brinks really going to be better then Jyles when it comes to winning the close games?  I can’t believe it to be so right now.

Jyles was obviously upset and should be because the blame for the Bombers poor record is definately being placed on his shoulders – LaPolice says thats not the case.    Jyles however did bite his tongue and said all the right things to the media as he accepted his demotion as a professional.
