REGINA- Beach bums at Katepwa Lake and Echo Lake are being told to stay out of the water.

The District of Katepwa and the Water Security Agency have confirmed there is a dangerous bacteria called blue-green algae in the water at these lakes.

Signs are now posted at Katepwa Lake warning swimmers that if you’re in contact with the algae, it could cause skin and eye irritation as well as vomiting and stomach problems.
