MONTREAL — A 22-year-old cyclist was seriously injured after she apparently ran a red light and was hit by a car Friday night.

Witnesses told police that the cyclist was heading west against the flow of traffic along Queen Mary Road in NDG, when they said she ran a red light and was struck by an oncoming vehicle just after 1:00 a.m.
Police confirmed that she suffered injuries to her head and upper body, but these were not life-threatening.
The 27-year-old driver of the car was was uninjured.
