Hamilton Police may be one step closer to wrapping up the unsolved murder of a good samaritan. Scot Urquhart reports on some significant developments in the five year old murder case.
John Daly was walking home from a bar in his east end neighbourhood in March 2003 when he saw a couple of guys breaking into cars on the street.
He shouted at them, and as they began to move away, he followed them down the street.
One of them turned on him, and stabbed him in the head with what police believe was a screwdriver.
Since then they've been working the case, and talking to witnesses. Wednesday they released the first composite drawing of the man they believe killed John Daly.
There were two suspects involved, but for the moment police say this is the man they want most.
There is a $10,000 reward outstanding in this investigation.
Police believe they have a strong composite sketch that someone will positively identify — and they're hoping to make an arrest, based on that information.
