A native of Toronto, Minna Rhee has been part of Global News since 2003. After graduating on the Dean’s List from the University of Toronto, Minna worked in digital marketing for several years before following her calling and pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism.
A ball of energy, Minna’s first stint at Global was as morning show reporter, getting up at 3am to cover breaking news throughout the GTA. Always up for a challenge, Minna has covered such notable stories as the northeast blackout of 2003, the demise of the auto sector and the return of hostages to Canadian soil. She has also reported on visits by such dignitaries as; the Dalai Lama and Bill Clinton, and how the city scrambled to deal with chaos when public transit workers went on strike. Her most memorable moments would be a cameo appearance in the National Ballet’s Nutcracker performance and covering the ins and outs of the Toronto International Film Festival.
A serious car accident in January 2009 has given Minna a new perspective on life; to live each day to the fullest, recognizing the endless possibilities in every opportunity that presents itself.
Her passions include motivational speaking, vintage shopping, and enjoying the outdoors with her family. Minna currently lives near High Park with her husband and daughter.
