Rob Gibson

Rob Gibson is CHCA News’ newest news Anchor Reporter. An award winning journalist with more than 20 years broadcasting experience, Rob graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Communications.


Rob’s career has taken him across the country, starting in his home town of Kenora Ontario, before moving to Thunder Bay, Halifax, Winnipeg, Calgary and now Red Deer. Rob began as an Anchor Reporter before becoming the Sports Director at A Channel (now City TV) In Calgary. Rob returns to his first career passion, news at CHCA News.


Over the course of his career Rob has interviewed Prime Ministers and some of the top athletes in the world. One of his best career moments was covering the Calgary Flames magical Stanley cup run in the spring of 2004.


When Rob isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his two sons, Griffin and Dillon, hiking, golfing, playing hockey and most other sports. Rob enjoys working out and is also an accomplished painter.


Rob has also been very involved with many charities. Emceeing and raising funds across the country. He loves getting involved in the communities where he lives most recently helping the Elbow Park Wolverines atom 2 hockey team win there division during ESSO minor hockey week in 2007 and a City championship in 2007 as an Assistant coach.
