63-year-old facing charges after stabbing in Halifax’s Fairview neighbourhood

A 63-year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing Wednesday night in Halifax’s Fairview neighbourhood.

Halifax Regional Police say officers responded to the area of Rosedale Avenue and Dutch Village Road just before 8 p.m. following a weapons call.

When they arrived, police found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound to his leg.

Police say officers administered first aid before paramedics arrived.

The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Police say Stephen Wayne Frederick of Halifax has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

He’s set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Thursday.
