A federal review of a multi-million dollar dispute has ruled in favour of an Interlake lodge owner hosting Manitoba First Nations evacuees from the 2011 flood.
Misty Lake Lodge owner Michael Bruneau has been in a battle with the Manitoba Association of Native Fire Fighters over an alleged $3 million unpaid bill.

Now the Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Affairs Canada have said MANFF needs to pay its debt to the lodge for housing the evacuees.
Ottawa’s decision comes with an order issued to MANFF to pay Bruneau $2.6 million for lodging and other claims.
Bruneau still claims there will be a shortfall in what he is owed and said he will still be closing the doors on the lodge for good September 1st.
On Friday, staff changed the locks on several rooms and cleared out all the property belonging to the flood coordinators hired by MANFF.
