HALIFAX – A 14-year-old girl was taken to hospital Wednesday after being hit in a Halifax-area crosswalk.
Police say the accident happened at the intersection of Pleasant and Crawford streets in Dartmouth around 6:30 p.m.
They say the girl had just left a bus and was crossing the street in a crosswalk in front of the bus when a vehicle in the passing lane hit her.
The girl was treated in hospital and released, while the driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was not injured.

Meanwhile, another pedestrian was hit while crossing the Bedford Highway around 10 p.m.
A motorcycle was travelling southbound on the road when it hit the 24-year-old man, who was not crossing in a crosswalk.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old man, was thrown from his vehicle but not injured.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been laid in either incident.
