Paul Dunphy

Weather expert Paul Dunphy brings viewers current conditions and long range forecasts weekdays on the Early News at 5pm and News Hour at 6pm.

A Calgarian by birth, Paul joined the station in 1986. He got his first media job as a disk jockey in Grande Prairie at the tender age of 18. Though his early years in broadcasting were spent in radio, his fascination with science eventually got him into television weather forecasting. Paul Dunphy is recognized by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS).

"I am a fitness nut and lift weights, walk, run and cycle for my health," says Paul of his off-air pursuits. He also holds a black belt in Tae-Kwon Do and is an avid reader. "I often read as many as five books at a time," he says. "Although I read all kinds of non-fiction, my favorite topics are science – naturally – history and psychology."
