TORONTO – It’s not every day you get to see a truck engine exploding on a major Greater Toronto Area highway, but that’s exactly what passengers in a vehicle witnessed Tuesday morning.
Video obtained by Global News shows a trailer truck engine up in flames on eastbound Highway 403 just before 9 a.m.

Moments later, an explosion occurred in the engine surprising both the driver and the passengers inside the vehicle travelling in the opposite lane.
The fire was extinguished and a tow truck was brought in the remove the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
All eastbound lanes of the highway at Winston Churchill Blvd. have been closed to traffic due to the incident.
