Peel Regional Police say the service’s explosive disposal unit has removed three “military-grade” devices from the Second World War that were left at a Mississauga emergency services building for disposal.
A police spokesperson told Global News officers were called to the fire station and paramedic services building on Airport Road near Silver Dart Drive, just east of Toronto Pearson International Airport, in Mississauga before 4 p.m. on Monday.

The spokesperson didn’t elaborate on what exactly the devices were.
They said someone brought the device to the building for disposal, adding it was not done “in a threatening manner.”
Police reported that three nearby businesses had to be evacuated as a result of the incident.
Officers closed the roads briefly for the investigation.
