CALGARY- Another high-profile concert has been announced, to raise money for southern Alberta flood relief.
The Halo High Water Benefit Concert will be held on August 4, and the performance and telethon will feature some big name talent.
Calgary’s Paul Brandt is headlining the event, along with High River’s George Canyon, Jim Cuddy, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Dean Brody, Brett Kissel and Susan Aglukark.
The concert will be held at the Jubilee Auditorium and will also be televised.
Musician Tom Jackson is hosting the event.
“Whether it’s rural communities like High River, urban neighborhoods in Calgary, or the southern Alberta First Nations, thousands of people have been impacted by the flooding,” he said in a statement. “However, as with any great tragedy, the power of the human spirit is evident in the way communities and individuals have rallied to support those that need it most.”
Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets go on sale starting July 20.
Also on Monday, a benefit concert was announced that will feature the likes of Jann Arden and Tom Cochrane, among others.
