Police identify two men murdered outside banquet hall in Vaughan

TORONTO – Two men were the victims of a targeted murder outside of a banquet hall in Vaughan early Friday morning.

The shooting happened in the parking lot outside of Terrace Banquet Hall at 1680 Creditstone Road around 1 a.m.

Police have identified the two victims as 41-year-old Salvatore Calautti and 35-year-old James Tusek.

The two men were attending a large stag party at the banquet hall on Thursday night. York Police say roughly 100 people were still at the party when the shooting took place.

One of the men was shot in the head while sitting in a black BMW SUV outside on Creditstone Road.

The BMW in which one of the victims was found dead is under lease and registered to an Italian restaurant in Toronto on Dufferin Street just north of Glencairn Avenue.

The other man, was shot twice before being taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting was not a random attack.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact people.
