Fire causes $150K damage to Silverwood Heights home

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of a house fire that caused an estimated $150,000 in damage.

Several fire crews from the Saskatoon Fire Department and police were called to the Silverwood Heights neighbourhood at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Homeowner Blair Daviduke told Global News firefighters found a small fire in the basement of his home in the 100 block of Stechishin Crescent.

He said no one was home at the time, so no one was hurt.

Firefighters said the fire was brought under control in just over 30 minutes.

There was no extension of the fire to other parts of the house, they added.

The fire department said an investigator continues their analysis to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
