Ridge Meadows RCMP are warning dog owners about a potential hazard in an off-leash dog park in Maple Ridge.

Police say residents have reported broken auto safety glass on the ground in Volker Park on 123 Avenue.

No dogs have been reported injured at this time, but one dog did become sick from what appears to be tainted food, although police are not sure if the food and the glass are connected.

The glass appears to be from a windshield or a window and police say it is a concern and out of character for that area, as there is no place to park right beside the fenced-in dog park.

If you have any information about this incident, contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.

In East Vancouver, pet owners were concerned after it appeared someone was leaving antifreeze injected toys for dogs in a park.
