Corb Lund hosts Edmonton benefit concert for southern Alberta

EDMONTON – Alberta-born country singer Corb Lund is headlining a special benefit concert in Edmonton to support the Canadian Red Cross’ Alberta flood relief efforts.

Lund has recorded many of his records in Edmonton and owns a cabin just outside the city.

The show, called “Edmonton for Southern Alberta”, will feature Lund, Jr. Gone Wild and friends.

It is scheduled for Sunday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Starlite Room.

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, July 10 at noon.

All proceeds will go to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Flood funds.

On June 20, massive flooding hit parts of southern Alberta, sparking dozens of local states of emergency and evacuating towns and cities, including High River and Calgary, where close to 100,000 people were told to leave their homes.

While the province has pledged $1 billion in disaster assistance, the government admits the recovery and rebuilding process could take ten years.
