SaskTel, SaskPower warn customers of phone scam

SaskTel and SaskPower are warning Saskatchewan residents about a phone scam targeting their customers.

An unknown organization is calling customers, indicating they won a prize or free gift. Customers are asked to press one on their phone for more details.

Both SaskTel and SaskPower ask their customers to just hang up and not dial the number on the call display.

Those who fall for the scam will not be charged unwanted long distance charges for dialling one, but someone may come on the line asking for a credit card number or banking information.

Anyone who has provided personal financial information should contact police immediately.
