Tornado alert issued for area near Nanton

CALGARY- Alberta Emergency Alert issued a critical alert on Thursday afternoon, for reports of a possible tornado.

Environment Canada is tracking a storm 25 km south of Nanton, and has the potential to produce very large hail and even a tornado. It is heading towards the communities of Parkland, Stavely and Claresholm.

Residents living in those areas should seek shelter immediately, in a basement or reinforced structure.
