Winnipeg police say 23-year-old man dead after Victor Street homicide

Winnipeg police have confirmed the city’s latest homicide after an incident on Victor Street Friday afternoon.

Officers say they were called to the 700 block of Victor where they found an injured man who later died.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old, Noah Soloman Nigussie.

Investigators say it’s too early to determine the cause of death and that no suspects are currently in custody.

“Depending on the time of the evening and where you are, yeah there’s less people and there is certainly a sense there might be a higher risk,” said Cst. Rob Carver of the Winnipeg Police Service on Saturday.

This marks Winnipeg’s fourteenth homicide of 2020.
