One man dead after early Tuesday morning shooting in Whalley

An early Tuesday morning shooting in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood has left one man dead.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team say 21-year-old Pritpal Singh was shot and killed outside a residence in the 8800-block of 138A Street around 12:45 a.m.

Officials do not believe this incident is related to the ongoing gang conflict in the Lower Mainland.

They are now working to find a motive.

No arrests have been reported.

IHIT says they are working with the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
