Woman’s body found in Whitby creek

Durham police are calling the discovery of a women’s body in a Whitby creek suspicious and have called in homicide investigators.

At 9:50 a.m., police were called to 200 White Oaks Court, near Dundas Street West and McQuay Boulevard. There they located the body of a woman in the creek behind a group of apartment buildings.

The woman in her 40s was partially clothed, said Sergeant Nancy van Rooy of Durham Regional Police.

Sgt. van Rooy said investigators are looking for any witnesses who may have information.
