Man dead after stabbing at Toronto apartment, police say

Toronto police say a man is dead after a stabbing at an apartment in the city early Sunday.

Police said they were called to the area of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West shortly after 6 a.m.

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was later pronounced dead in hospital.

A suspect was arrested at the scene of the incident.

Police have identified the victim has 43-year-old Birchfield Matthews of Toronto.

Police said 29-year-old Kenroy Samuel of Toronto has been charged with second degree murder.
