When David’s mom was approached with this idea, she knew it was a good fit. “This will be for children he loved and he loved the outdoors, it was truly remarkable what everyone has done for him to remember him.”
The four days of intense labour have been long and exhausting, but for this family but they say it’s worth every minute to have a public memory.
“Everyone can feel his memory here, and we will all belong here,” said Isabella, David’s niece.
The structure was made in his favourite colours, blue and orange, and they named it “Nacho Park” after his camp nickname.
“Despite the fact we have lost him, we have gained a whole new family working to make this,” said Gail, David’s mom.
