Weekend Road Closures for Two Street Festivals

It’s summer and that means every weekend is filled with festivals that will shut down parts of the city. This weekend two street festivals will have their turn in the sun. The Corso Italia Toronto Fiesta and the Taste of Lawrence Festival.
Road Closures and Dates are below:

Taste of Lawrence Festival
Lawrence Avenue East will be closed to traffic between Warden Avenue to Crockford Blvd at 6 pm on Friday July 4, 2008 and will reopen on Sunday July 6, 2008 at midnight.
The event will take place at the following times:
Friday July 4, 2008 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Saturday July 5, 2008 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Sunday July 6, 2008 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
TTC buses have been rerouted. There will be transit service on Lawrence Avenue East between Warden Avenue and Birchmount Road.
Motorists can expect delays in the area.
This event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

Corso Italia Toronto Fiesta
Toronto Police Media Release:
On Saturday, July 5, 2008 and Sunday, July 6, 2008, the Corso Italia Toronto Fiesta will take place on St. Clair Avenue West. The event will include a road closure of St. Clair Avenue West between Dufferin Street and Lansdowne Avenue.
The closure will take effect on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 6 a.m. and will re-open on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 12 a.m. The event will take place along St. Clair Avenue West on Saturday and Sunday. Organizers are expecting thousands of people to attend over the course of the two days.
Event times:
Saturday, July 7, 2008: 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, July 8, 2008, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This event will take place regardless of weather conditions. Members of the public should anticipate significant traffic in the area.
