REGINA – The situation may appear dire, by officials in Alberta say that, for now, they don’t require any help from Saskatchewan.

Provincial Minister of Government Relations Jim Reiter has reached out to his counterparts in Alberta to offer assistance – including personnel and equipment, but at this time officials in Alberta don’t feel that aid is necessary.

However, more than 1,000 Canadian Forces soldiers and members of the Edmonton Police Service have been called in to help.

Officials in both provinces will keep in contact as the situation develops.
