SASKATOON – A local family is raising money to buy a second epilepsy-testing telemetry bed for Royal University Hospital.
They hosted a fundraising dinner and silent auction on Thursday at the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans Hall.
Brock Kolibab, the youngest in the family, is a healthy, energetic five-year-old, but two years ago he was diagnosed with epilepsy.

“Our boy started to, had a seizure. As things progressed, he started having more seizures,” said Brock’s father Curtis Kolibab.
While in hospital, Brock was hooked up to a telemetry machine, which captures videos of what the seizures look like and which parts of the brain are being affected.
Currently, there are more than 100 people waiting for the test and with only one bed in Saskatchewan, it will take about two-and-a-half years to make it through the list.
“A telemetry bed costs $100,000,” said Brock’s mother Shantel Kolibab.
Brock has been seizure-free for a year and a half now and his parents say it’s important for them to give back to the community.
