Patrol members responded to a weapons complaint around 11 p.m. Saturday at the Elements at McConachie condos on 173 Avenue and McConachie Boulevard.

When police arrived they found the man dead inside of a suite.

The homicide division has been called in to investigate.

Residents told Global News the neighbourhood is usually quiet. Saturday night people saw many police officers, and the area was blocked off for hours.

Bailey Buchynski lives on the second floor of the condo complex.

“I was in my kitchen and I heard a bunch of guys screaming,” Buchynski said.

“There was police officers there, surrounding this whole area, holding the stairwell [and] watching these units.”
