Surrey RCMP Sgt. Roger Green said police were called around 5:30 p.m. with reports of two vehicles speeding along 96 Avenue exchanging gunfire.

“One of the vehicles was a white Ford Expedition type vehicle and the other one was a silver or gray,” he said. “We believe it might be a Lexus or an Infinity type vehicle.”

Green said the vehicles were last seen speeding north on 148 Street, and that there were no immediate reports of injuries.

He added that officers found shell casings at the scene, and are now canvassing for witnesses and video evidence.

Traffic was closed from Green Timbers Way to 150 Street on 96 Avenue while police investigated, but has since reopened.
