KELOWNA, BC — Voters in the riding of Westside-Kelowna will be heading to the polls in July.
Premier Christy Clark, who said last week that she’s running in Westside-Kelowna after losing her seat in Vancouver-Point Grey, announced Wednesday that the by-election will be held July 10.
The riding became vacant after Liberal Ben Stewart announced last week that he’s stepping aside to make way for Clark.
Stewart won 58 per cent of the vote.
Clark will be running against NDP candidate Carole Gordon and BC Conservative Sean Upshaw.
There were 44,830 registered voters in the Westside-Kelowna electoral district as of April 23, 2013.
Voter turnout in Westside-Kelowna for the 2013 General Election was 49.62% of registered voters (based on the number of registered voters as of April 23, 2013).
