TORONTO – The results are in. And for anyone who has suffered hours in line at a crowded airport or stood sadly waiting for a piece of luggage, the results are not surprising.
FlightNetwork.com has ranked Canada’s airports, taking into consideration traffic amounts, travelers’ pet peeves and airport improvements.
Canada’s worst high-traffic airports, ranked from worst to best, are:
- Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) – 71.3%
- Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport (YUL) – 12.8%
- Vancouver International Airport (YVR) – 8.3%
- Edmonton International Airport (YEG) – 4%
- Calgary International Airport (YYC) – 3.5%
Toronto’s Pearson airport did however receive top marks for being Canada’s most improved airport thanks to introducing self-service border clearance, new food options and table-top iPads.
Long lines, delays clearing security, and long waits at the baggage claim area are some of the most common pet peeves.
