Roughriders ticket sales at all-time high

SASKATOON – According to the Roughriders marketing team, this may be a record year for sales.

“In general we sell more merchandise, Roughrider brand merchandise, than all the other CFL team merchandise combined,” said Roughriders Business Development VP Gregg Sauter.

Only a week into single game sales, more than 315,000 tickets have been snatched up, a number that’s on its way to being a record-breaker.

“We’re doing as well as we’ve–and probably better than we ever have this year,” said Sauter.

“Ultimately, this is–it’s Saskatchewan’s team. We’re a community-owned organization and there’s a lot of ownership felt there.”

Held in Regina for the third time in the last 20 years, the 2013 Grey Cup will now be able to seat 44,000 fans at Mosaic Place, after $14 million was spent to add 6,500 more seats. This allows the organization to offer cheaper tickets.
