Airline sued over fatal float plane crash

SASKATOON – A lawsuit has been filed against a small airline following a deadly plane crash in northern Saskatchewan.

A pilot and four passengers on the Lawrence Bay Airways float plane died when it crashed into Buss Lake in 2011.

Families of two of the passengers have launched the suit, claiming the pilot improperly distributed cargo on the plane and flew at an improper altitude.

The Transportation Safety Board earlier determined the crash happened because the plane was flying low and went into an aerodynamic stall.
