Boaters reminded to be safe on water

Boaters are being reminded to stay safe on the water over the long weekend.

The Lifesaving Society would like everyone to remember to wear a lifejacket while spending time on a boat and that alcohol and boating do not mix.

It is also important to check weather conditions before hitting the water.

Boaters must also have their Pleasure Craft Operator card if they plan on driving a boat. License regulations came into effect September 2009.
