Construction of Moose Jaw multiplex going strong

It’s a project that has the people of Moose Jaw talking – and now the new Multiplex is gaining a lot of ground.

The building, which will hold 4,500 people, is on pace to open in 2011. Crews are working in full force to complete the project. While there is a lot of time until it opens, there is still plenty of work to do. Up to 200 workers are helping out with the multi-million dollar project.

After 10 months of construction the steel structure is up and concrete is going in to the floor for the concourse. Work is beginning on the corporate box level. The floor for the ice surface will also be poured shortly.

The $60 million price tag also has an end in sight. Raising $10.1 million is a tough job for any community, but to date Moose Jaw has raised $9.4 million for the project.
