The Edmonton Eskimos sign second-round draft pick Saleem Borhot to a three-year deal on Friday.
Borhot, a safety from St. Mary’s University, played eight games with the St. Mary’s Huskies in 2009 recording 19 defensive tackles, three pass knock-downs, two interceptions for 47 yards and one fumble recovery.
The Calgary native previously played for the Okanagan Suns in the CJFL.
The Eskimos traded both their 19th and 27th picks to Hamilton for their 12th pick in order to select Borhot in the draft.
"Saleem is very pleased to be an Eskimo for years to come," said his agent Mark Maren.
Borhot is expected to be at the Eskimo’s rookie camp which starts June 2.
