Halifax Regional Police have charged 43-year-old Peter Guy Joseph Monteith in relation to two recent robberies at the Scotiabank in downtown Dartmouth.
At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 9, police say they responded to a reported robbery at the Dartmouth Scotiabank at 91 Portland St.

Police allege a man came into the bank, jumped the counter and took cash from the teller. There were no weapons seen and no injuries reported, according to police.
Police say the man fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Monteith was also charged in connection with another robbery on Oct. 15.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., police say a man entered the same bank and advised the teller that he had a knife. The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.
After an arrest warrant was issued for Monteith on Nov. 1, police were able to arrest him without incident at a residence in Dartmouth on Friday.
According to authorities, Monteith will appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Monday to face charges of robbery, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
