Sudden death investigation closes Hamilton mountain access

Hamilton police were forced to close the downbound lanes of the Claremont Access for about three hours Thursday afternoon for a sudden death investigation.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the mountain access just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

At one point, police had closed the upbound and downbound lanes of the Claremont and Jolley Cut as they initiated their investigation.

Police have not released any details regarding the person who died, or how.
