Homicide detectives deployed to Chilliwack after overnight shooting

Homicide investigators have been deployed to Chilliwack, where they say a 27-year-old man was shot overnight.

According to Upper Fraser Valley RCMP, police were called to the area of Yale Road and Fletcher Street around 12: 30 to reports that a man was seriously injured.

The victim was rushed to hospital, but police say he is not expected to survive.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the victim was known to police, and the attack appears targeted.
