Halifax police take man into custody after standoff on Windmill Road in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police have taken a man into custody after a standoff at a residence in Dartmouth.

Police spent much of Wednesday morning attempting to take a man into custody from a residence in the 200 block of Windmill Road.

Shortly after 12:45 p.m., police say they took the man into custody without incident.

The man was wanted in connection with undisclosed weapons offences.

Officers had Windmill Road from Albro Lake Road to Howe Street closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic as part of the standoff.

It’s expected that police will clear the area and the roads will re-open shortly.
