OTTAWA – The most sought-after interview on Parliament Hill this week was Senator Mike Duffy, but getting him to stop and talk proved challenging for the press gallery.

Duffy has been around Parliament Hill for decades and used his intricate knowledge of its geography to avoid the journalists seeking answers to what kind of a deal he made with the Prime Minister’s Office, who knew about it and whether it impacted the final Senate report into his expenses.

After letting reporters and cameras run around Parliament Hill a few times, Duffy finally took a few questions, telling them Canadians would get the whole story… at some point.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“There are bits and pieces out there. It should all be put together in one place and there will be some place to do that,” Duffy said.

That didn’t stop the journalists from following Duffy to his car in a bid to get those answers right away.
